To contact us, please email puppy@pugpuppyforsale.net OR CALL 503-366-3408. BUT BEFORE YOU CALL OR EMAIL. Read our Kennel rules and FAQ page. It will save you and I lots of time on the phone. Also, DO NOT ASK TO VISIT the very young puppies. We can help you choose your puppy via looks and personality. Young puppies are extremely fragile and suseptible to disease that is transmitted by human hands, feet and other animals. We only allow visits to the puppies upon pickup. We have never had anyone not love their puppy that was specially chosen with them in mind. No visitors to our kennels due to biosecurity reasons. We also breed specialty pigeons, chickens, and prize winning goats so must be extremely careful due to the potential for disease transmission into our clean farm. We do request, that if you like the looks of a puppy, you tell me about your lifestyle. What are you specifically wanting to do or where are you wanting to go with your dog? I need to know if you require a quieter dog, a more energetic dog, a shy or outgoing dog. Is it going to be around kids or adults only? How long will it be alone each day? Etc. This will allow me to screen the pups to see who is going to fit you best. If you pick one on looks and it isn't developing the characteristics that will fit your family, I will certainly let you know and we will make adjustments accordingly! I have happy customers with many repeat buyers!

Here is one little begger who was just born. The picture is a little fuzzy as I was shaking due to the excitement of the birthing. I get so wound up at getting them out and getting them breathing that sometimes I find tears just streaming down my face and I don't even know it. Especially if someone has been born butt first and has their head stuck and I'm working frantically to get them out before they suffocate. Usually if they are born butt first, the umbilical cord is already disconnected so I have only a matter of a minute to two minutes tops to get them out and get them going. Heart stimulation and mouth to mouth recisitation is the name of the game in that case. If I cannot get them out, they are gone and there is a rush to the vet's for a c section to get the pup who is stuck out of the way of the ones who are pushing to be born. It makes for many 2-3:00 AM 35 minutes drives to the nearest emergency vet. (Boston Terriers aren't known for their ability to have puppies on their own.) If one of our dogs has a c section they are not allowed to have any more litters for a minimum of a year. If their next litter is also a c section, then they are spayed and retired to a good home with someone who wants an older, potty trained dog. AND NO it isn't the size of the puppie's heads that cause the problem, it is the genetics of Boston Terriers. The same gene that gives them the shorter nose, also carries the instructions to the uterus to contract in an organized manner to move the puppies out and down the canal. Often this gene will not allow the uterus to contract properly, but will tell it to "quiver". This doesn't drive the puppies down the "horns" (there are two horns or branches to a dogs uterus)to the birth canal and can kill the mother dog and pups if the breeder doesn't realize the mom is actually in labor. Frequently there are no overt signs that the dog is even in labor. You have to take their temps, AM and PM for a number of days prior to delivery. If the temp drops below 100 or down to about 99.5 degrees, you know delivery will happen within the next 12 hours or so, then the dog eats, sleeps, goes everywhere with you 24/7 to be sure you are there when she needs you.
Did you know Boston Terrier's noses start out pink and turn black as they age? It is a great barometer for the breeder. When a puppy is born it's nose is purple, as you stimulate them to breathe and they get oxygen, they "pink up". Their noses turn bright bright pink so show good oxygen flow to their bodies. If they don't "pink up" and remain purple or with a purplish hue, you know you have problems with lung function and they probably need extra oxygen for awhile. You also know you have to suction out their noses and throats better to try to get the extra "guck" or ambiotic fluid out of their lungs and air passages.

Puppies who are going to new homes need to be watched very carefully.
Their immune systems will be stressed when leaving mom,
meeting new people and being played with vigorously. Puppies need lots of rest, sleep time and quiet time, regular feedings and bed times.

Most of all, a new puppy should be watched carefully for any change of bowel habits or any rnnny nose or wheezing. If they are going to come down with a cold, it will be during the first two weeks of acclimating to a new home.

When you take your puppy to the vet for it's check up. DO NOT PUT THE PUPPY ON ANY SURFACE unless you have a clean towel from home to put between the puppy and the surface. The VETERINARY CLINIC IS THE MOST DANGEROUS PLACE YOU CAN TAKE YOUR PUP at this age. When you take your pup to the vet, make sure you take him/her in their own carrier. Do not let them out until the vet requires it. Make sure the vet has washed the scale that they weigh them on and their own hands, and the exam table prior to handling your puppy.

When you leave the vet's it is a good idea to take some hand sanitizer and sanitize your hands and your puppy's paws.

Remember! People take their SICK dogs to the vets and they usually aren't in a carrier, but on a leash. They can spread their diseases to your puppy.
